Jordan Von Tress

Jordan Von Tress can trace his interest in politics back to his childhood in Cape Girardeau, Missouri where he witnessed President Ronald Regan’s motorcade drive by his window. Ever since then he has been hooked.

Jordan began his career in politics working as a lowly intern at the South Carolina Republican Party. Not the most glamorous position, but simply being involved was enough for him. Following his graduation from the University of South Carolina he became the Deputy Political Director for the SC GOP.

In July 2009, Jordan began working for Under the Power Lines as the New Media Director and soon after became the Director of Operations.

Ever since that meeting Jordan has learned more about politics and new media than he would have ever imagined. Working with so many high profile clients, political operatives, and amazing coders and designers has created this new media/political monster that’s always prepared for the next challenge.

Besides all the daily work from clients, Jordan writes a blog titled 3 Things We Learned Today, where he puts his own sarcastic spin on the 3 biggest news story of each day. He also updates the state’s most prominent news aggregator Political Net News.

If he isn’t on the internet, alert the authorities. Or he could simply be watching his beloved Braves/Falcons/ or Gamecocks.

Taylor Tompkins

Taylor’s interest in politics was started as a young child when she was one of President George H. W. Bush’s official greeters when she was only six years old. You could say working in politics quickly was becoming her future.

Serving as a Page to Senator Strom Thurmond in July 2002, volunteering for Senator Jim DeMint’s first Senate campaign in 2004 and later joining the staff at South Carolina based political consulting firm First Tuesday Strategies, she quickly learned what it takes to work for a successful campaign.

As the Chief Operator of Voter Fetch for Under the Power Lines, she understands the importance of mobilizing volunteers and reaching potential voters and constituents.

When not spending her time on the Internet, Taylor can be found around South Carolina. She’s either at the beach or in the mountains, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. If you can’t find her there, check a museum because the Columbia College History major constantly looks to further her education and expand her horizons.
